It captivated me ever since I saw that Virgin logo changing into the Cryo one. The game has aged pretty decently and the lack of modern adventure games makes it a hidden treasure to be found and enjoyed!ĭune. What strikes me from today's point of view is that Dune was a similar mix like one of my other favorite games, Lords of Midnight. Only later did I realise that the game could be solved in a more elegant way. But it was really hard and only possible with varioud tactical retreats. Yes, it worked: if you used the Fremen cleverly, you could win without going through all the scripted events. I had just devoured the book (triggered by Dune 2) and was blown away by a, shall we say, more faithful implementation of its plot into a game.Īt first I solved the game without finishing the adventure part. The look was very classy and close to the David Lynch film, and I liked the mix of adventure and strategy game.
